The article depicts everyday food life in Zimbabwe. There are different ways to eat food for whether you are wealthy or not so wealthy. for the average Zimbabwean, corn is a base product for most of their dishes. For the wealthier people they have the luxury of eating meats and rice. Not to worry though, there are many ways to prepare their foods. Food in general isn't what modern day Americans would call a nice meal, but it is all they have.
The food in Zimbabwe is not what we Americans would call a decent meal. The food for an average person is based on corn or cornmeal. They mix it with water to form bota, a paste. They also eat dried fish and milk. With the low amount of food they have, they should be provided with more. Wealthier countries should help not only Zimbabwe, but also all countries of Africa because of their poverty scale. Wealthier families are more "fortunate" because they typically have meats and rice. This is a basic meal for people in MDC countries. It is not fair that in America we have more than enough to eat, and some people in Zimbabwe are living off of scrapes.
The article is small in length but it describes a lot of what the culture in Zimbabwe is like, just through the foods they eat. The food they eat does not only tell about the country but also about the culture. The foods they eat are different from what we eat. What they eat is a characteristic of their culture. The food they eat also shows the state the country is in. the country is suffering economically and it is clear to see that just in the foods they eat.
